FAQ

1.What is the production capacity of the single head keg filling machine?

It fills 20–30 kegs per hour, depending on keg size and fill volume. On a single-head machine the keg is filled one at a time under counter-pressure, so the cycle time per keg is the throughput limit rather than a conveyor speed — a 10 L keg cycles faster than a 50 L keg at the same fill pressure. Tell us your keg size and daily target and we will confirm the figure.

2.What keg sizes and spear types does it support?

It handles keg sizes from 10 L to 50 L, with 60 L available as an optional maximum size. Keg size is managed at the filling head through adaptors and changeable format parts, and the spear coupling has to match the keg valve type you use. Switching between keg sizes is therefore an adaptor change rather than a second machine — send us your keg and spear specification and we will confirm the adaptors.

3.Which production scale is it designed for?

It is designed for breweries filling a modest number of kegs per day, where kegging is one task among several rather than a continuous operation. It suits small and mid-sized breweries, brewpubs, and producers who keg a portion of output while packaging the rest in bottles or cans. The lowest entry cost in the range is deliberate — capacity can be added later.

4.What utilities and operators does it require?

It needs power, compressed air, and a CO₂ supply for purging and counter-pressure — the gas connection is the one requirement that distinguishes a keg filler from a bottle or can machine. One operator is sufficient: they load each keg, start the cycle and remove the filled keg. Because the operator is present for every keg, the machine should sit close to where filled kegs are stored. Machine dimensions are listed in the Technical Specifications table on this page.

5.When should I step up to a 2 head keg filling machine?

Step up when the kegging task starts delaying other work, or when you are kegging daily rather than occasionally. The 2-head machine runs at 30–50 kegs per hour, so it roughly doubles the output for a modest increase in cost, and one operator can prepare the next keg while the current one fills. If you are kegging a few dozen kegs a week, the single-head unit remains the better value.
